The Invisible Soldier: Wars Within and Without
explores the struggle of living with battles that cannot always be seen. The faded central figure represents the feeling of becoming ghost-like—present in the world, but sometimes disconnected from the self. The mesh and chain suggest anxiety, pain, and invisible expectations: the pressure to move faster, have a clear plan, appear strong, and meet society’s definition of success. The work treats war as both internal and external. It is the war of the mind, but also the war of trying to exist in a world that demands certainty while a person is still learning how to endure, heal, and become.
